I am an astronomer who enjoys sharing my love of the sky and science with my students and the public.

Things I Can Do

I teach physics and astronomy, both inside and outside the classroom. I help people gain an understanding for the physical world around them and their connection to the universe that surrounds us all. I am developing a program for informal science education, including life and geo-sciences along with astronomy. You can learn about it at starwerk.net.

A Few Accomplishments

I spent over a decade at Sonoma State University as an Education and Public Outreach scientist for NASA x-ray and gamma-ray missions. In that capacity I helped to develop numerous programs and products to improve education in physics and space science. My activities included managing an observatory, mentoring students, training teachers, developing curriculum and other undertakings. I continue many of these now that I am teaching at Chico State.
